We’ve all heard the classic tale of the grasshopper and the ants. All through summer, the ants work hard to have respite from the cold in the winter. But as I look at the ants coming in their lines to find bits of my sandwich, about the life of ants in the tropics.
Ants don’t hibernate in the tropics and they don’t have to worry about the winter as it never arrivers. So the ants would have to work hard all year long. And the grasshopper could play all year long if the story was set in the tropics.
What would be the moral of the story then? What makes life here different that anywhere else?
Does the lack of changing season give you the perception that things aren’t changing? Or to not notice how slowly things change. Do people, in general, get the luxury to play more compared to countries with cold snowy winters?
