How My Interest in Travel Led Me to Bishnudwaar

I always enjoy travelling with a small group of people rather than travelling in mass. I would like to experience solo travel but never dared to do that. One day my friend asked me whether we should meet at a nearby cafe or hike to Bishnudwaar. I love travelling, but I hardly go on hikes at nearby places, so we choose to go to Bishnudwaar.

I had recently joined the video editing classes so we decided to go after my class was over. Just two of us… haha. One of my other friends wanted to join us but I didn’t really want him to come along. So, I made up some story to stop him from going with us. Haha! My friend might be ‘how cruel a friend I am’ but it wouldn’t have been something he would have enjoyed and I did not want to tell him that I did not want him to go with us.

Early in the morning, I went to class at 7 am. It was an hour-long class so afterwards, I directly went to my friend’s place. Wah! She was still sleeping lol. She got ready and we left for the to the Budanilkantha entrance of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The funny part was that our scooty broke down mid-way and we returned back in search of workshop.

Luckily, we found one where we had to change the spark plug and then we were ready to go. The scooter started slowing down at the same point where it had stopped before. But luckily, we made it.

I was always afraid of climbing steep hills and I was worried that this hike to Bishnudwaar might not be what I was expecting. We bought two tickets, 100 for each, and had our bags checked at the entrance. Then, we started our hike. I became very happy with the trail because it was not that difficult even for a 80kg person.

Just two of us walking and no one around us except trees, the sound of waterfall, and the sound of birds. I was so surprised that I was not that exhausted from the 1 hour walk. We ate snacks we had bought from the store for the hike. Talking, singing, and enjoying the nature – we walked on. We almost reached the destination when we saw this board mentioning Bishnudwaar.

The road suddenly got very steep. Me and my friend thought that we might have to walk uphill for almost an hour. We sat for a while and talked about our future goals, about how blank we felt because we don’t know what we want to do in the future. But I always want to do what I want i.e I just want to be happy even with the small job I do. Even if I don’t have any big dreams to follow, I just want to go with the flow.

After about 5 mins, we reached our destination. Yuppie!!! Sooner than we expected!! There were small bridges of broken woods but the view was mesmerizing. I wish I could lay and enjoy nature my whole life. The water flow was not that big but we went through the river and sat and took some pics, videos and ate the snacks we had we brought. We did not feel hungry even though we had started travelling after having just a cup of tea.

We were thinking there would be just two of us but there were around 20 people there. Haha! I was thinking we would enjoy the beauty of the entire Bishnudwaar by ourselves. We sat there for half an hour and came back.

On the way, we felt pain in our legs. So, tired but enjoyful. We came back from there around 3 pm and went to Green Inn resort where I finally met one of my digital friends in person for the first time . We had some coffee and played with Lucy (Female Dog). It was all memorable and enjoyable hike to be a part of. So, we decided we will go on a short easy hike every weekend which will be healthy and fun for us.

One thing that really surprised me was the littering that people created in this historical place. People had thrown the plastic plates and other waste all over the place. Come on! this is a wildlife reserve which belongs to animals and birds. We are travelling there as guests and we have to stop littering and clean our own shits wherever we go.

So stay tuned for the next blog post which will detail our next hike!
